2-25-19 Request for information regarding hit & run suspect Janet Hinds
CHATTANOOGA, TN - The Chattanooga Police Department is asking for the community's assistance in gathering information related to the whereabouts of Janet Hinds on the evening of Saturday, February 23, 2019 prior to 11:04 p.m. Hinds is the suspect charged in the fatal hit-and-run of Chattanooga Police Officer Nicholas Galinger.

UPDATE (2/25/19):
On Monday, February 25, 2019 at approximately 9:30 a.m. the suspect in the hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of Chattanooga Police Officer Nicholas Galinger turned herself in at the Chattanooga Police Department. Janet Hinds was taken into custody by CPD Officer Jeffrey Buckner and transported to the Hamilton County Jail. The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office has provided the booking report, booking card, and mugshot for Hinds that is attached in this email. Hinds is charged with the following:
2-24-19 Traffic Crash / Fatal - 2200 Broad St.
On February 24th, 2019 at approximately 1:43 a.m., Chattanooga Police were notified of a single vehicle accident in the 2200 block of Broad Street. CPD's Traffic / DUI Division responded to the scene. The following was determined through interview, observation, and investigation:
