2-8-19 Bank Robbery Suspect In-Custody
UPDATE (2/4/19):
The man who robbed the BB&T Bank located at 2120 Gunbarrel Road on January 7, 2019 at approximately 1:42 p.m. has been identified and is in-custody.
CPD Robbery Investigators along with FBI Agents were able to identify the suspect from video surveillance footage and eye witness testimony. The suspect was identified as Edward Jack Gibbs. The Nashville Police Department advised they have him in custody on outstanding Federal probation violation warrants. The Chattanooga Police Department's investigation is on-going. Charges are pending.
2-2-19 Shooting - 180 I-24 West
On February 2, 2019 at approximately 10:40 p.m. Chattanooga Police were called to a local hospital after a person arrived seeking medical attention for a gunshot wound. The following are the preliminary facts of that incident:
1-31-19 Officer resigns while under investigation, decertification sought
CHATTANOOGA, TN - A Chattanooga Police Officer resigned on January 31, 2019 while under administrative investigation by the Chattanooga Police Department's Internal Affairs Unit. Desmond Logan's separation from CPD is effective immediately.
1-31-10 Shooting - 1900 block East 25th Street Place
On 1/31/2019 at approximately 5:47 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to the area of South Orchard Knob and East 25th Street Place on a report of shots fired.
1-31-19 Internal investigation opened into alleged sexual assault involving officer
CHATTANOOGA, TN - The Chattanooga Police Department's Internal Affairs Unit concluded its investigation into an allegation of misconduct involving an officer in CPD's Neighborhood Policing Bureau that occurred in November, 2018. The investigation resulted in the termination of Benjamin Dessalines on January 31, 2019.
