2-24-19 Officer involved Hit & Run
CHATTANOOGA, TN - On Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 11:04 p.m., Chattanooga Police Officer Nicholas Galinger was struck by a vehicle while on duty. The incident occurred on the 2900 block of Hamill Road in Hixson, TN. Ofc. Galinger was transported to a local hospital by Hamilton County EMS and later succumbed to injuries sustained in the incident. Officer Galinger was on a call with his Field Training Officer (FTO) checking a hazard in the roadway. He was out of their patrol vehicle when a vehicle passing by struck him. The vehicle is described as a 2017/2018 Honda CRV with front end damage.
2-22-19 Second Suspect Arrested/Homicide - 150 River St.
Chattanooga Police Department makes second arrest in connection to the Homicide of Kathy Hardy that occurred on July 16, 2017 at 150 River Street. Devonte Saddler is charged with Felony Murder and Especially Aggravated Robbery. Saddler is in custody at the Hamilton County Jail.
CPD Fugitive Unit, CPD Street Crimes Unit, Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Unit, and the U.S. Marshals worked together to apprehend Saddler on February 22, 2019.

2-19-19 Shooting / Homicide - 3825 Hixson Pike
On February 19, 2019 at 12:20 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a report of shots fired at 3825 Hixson Pike.
2-21-19 - Traffic Crash / Fatality - 100 Glenwood Dr
On February 21, 2019 at approximately 7:25 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a motor vehicle crash that occurred near the intersection of Glenwood Drive and Oak Street involving a Chevy Silverado truck and a Chevy S10 Blazer. The Chattanooga Police Traffic / DUI Division responded to the scene. The following was determined through interview, investigation and observation:
2-12-19 Accepting applications for upcoming Citizens Police Academy
The Chattanooga Citizens' Police Academy is a nine-week law enforcement education program. The purpose of the academy is to create positive interaction and enhance communication between the CPD and the citizens it serves. The next Academy begins Thursday, March 7, 2019. The group will meet on nine consecutive Thursday evenings.
