Chattanooga Police confiscate more than 20 pounds of marijuana, six pounds of cannabis oil, and drug paraphernalia while assisting the Chattanooga Fire Department on a call.
11-6-17 Shooting - 2100 block Shepherd Rd.
On Monday, November 6, 2017 at 7:44 p.m., Chattanooga Police officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 2100 block of Shepherd Road. The following are the preliminary facts of the incident.
11-5-17 Arrest/Homicide - 1000 block Baldwin St.
UPDATE (11/6/17):
After a complete and thorough review of the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident, CPD Violent Crimes Investigators arrest the party detained for questioning. The suspect is now in custody at the Hamilton County Jail.
Jamaal Mayes is charged with Criminal Homicide, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Dangerous Felony.
"I'm very proud of the CPD Officers and Investigators who quickly located and arrested the suspect in this case," said CPD Chief David Roddy. "I also want to acknowledge and thank the community members who contacted officers with information that ultimately led to the arrest of Jamaal Mayes. Our city will be a safer place when we all work together."

On Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 8:59 p.m., Chattanooga Police Officers along with East Ridge Police Officers responded to 4200 Ringgold Road, East Ridge on a person shot call. The following are the preliminary facts of that incident:
