8-10-19 Shooting - 1200 block Cypress Street Court
On August 10, 2019 at approximately 2:55 a.m., Chattanooga Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Poplar Street Court on a Person Shot call. The following are the preliminary facts of the investigation:
8-9-19 Chattanooga Police Department increases impaired-driving enforcement
Chattanooga, TN - The Chattanooga Police Department is partnering with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) to increase impaired-driving enforcement from August 16 - September 2, 2019 surrounding the Labor Day holiday. This initiative coincides with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" mobilization to increase impaired-driving enforcement nationwide.
8-6-19 Shooting - 300 block North Highland Park Avenue
On August 5, 2019 at approximately 8:07 p.m., Chattanooga Police were notified of a person shot who had arrived at a local hospital.
8-7-19 Back to School Pedestrian Safety
With school starting today for many in Chattanooga streets are becoming increasingly congested with vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians. The Chattanooga Police Department is reminding drivers, bicyclists, and walkers to exercise caution especially during student drop-off and pick-up times. Drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians should abide traffic laws and follow common sense safety guidelines year round, but especially during the school year when pedestrian traffic increases.
8-4-19 Fatal Traffic Crash - 6800 East Brainerd Road
On August 3, 2019 at approximately 3:56 p.m., the Chattanooga Police Traffic Unit responded to 6800 East Brainerd Road on a critical injury traffic crash. The following was determined through interview, investigation, and observation.
