8-20-19 UPDATE/8-16-19 Homicide / Stabbing - 1200 block East Main Street
Updated Information (8/20/19): The victim from the August 16, 2019 homicide which occurred in the 1200 block of East Main Street is identified as Christopher Hedrick. Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call the homicide tip line at 423-643-5100 or submit a tip via the CPD Mobile App. You can remain anonymous.
8-15-19 Academy Graduation Class 2019-2
The Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) added 21 new officers to its ranks on Thursday, August 15, 2019 and more than a third of them are women.
At 38 percent, the CPD Class 2019-2 has the distinction of having the highest known percentage of female graduates since record keeping began. This brings the total to 48 women who now wear the CPD badge including 2019-2 class president, Jesslyn Douglas.
8-12-19 Fatal Traffic Crash - 311 Mcbrien Road
On August 12, 2019 at approximately 3:13 p.m., Chattanooga Police were notified of a single vehicle traffic crash that occurred at 311 Mcbrien Road. The CPD Traffic / DUI Unit was notified and responded. The following was determined through interview, observation, and investigation.
8-14-19 Arrest - Fatal Drug Overdose
The Chattanooga Police Department Narcotics and Neighborhood Policing Units worked together to arrest Justin Domino (31) on a charge of Second Degree Murder.
8-9-19 Community Alert: Attempted Kidnapping - 2100 block of Robbins Street
The Chattanooga Police Department is investigating a report of a male suspect driving a red, four door Chevrolet who attempted to kidnap a juvenile in the 2100 block of Robbins Street.
