CPD receives grant funding for expansion of services to victims & survivors of crime
(Chattanooga, TN) - The Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) is the recipient of a three-year, $450,000 grant to be used to enhance the department’s response to and support of victims of crime in Chattanooga. The Law Enforcement-Based Victim Services Grant comes from the U.S. Department of Justice's Office for Victims of Crime (OVC). With over $20 million in total funds for the grant, the OVC expects to award 40 law enforcement agencies across the United States.

On 10/03/2018 at 1:19 a.m. the Chattanooga Police Department responded to a person shot at 701 West 48th Street.
9-29-18 TRAFFIC CRASH/ FATALITY- 6015 Dayton Blvd.
On September 29, 2018 at approximately 7:18 a.m. a fatal injury crash occurred at 6015 Dayton Blvd. The Chattanooga Police Department's Traffic Division responded to the scene. The following was determined through interview, investigation and observation:
9-30-18 UPDATE: SECOND ARREST - Shooting/Homicide - 1330 East 3rd St.
Chattanooga Police arrest a second suspect in the homicide of Areeyon Lane that occurred on September 29, 2018 in the 1330 block of East Third Street.
Ladarean Lane (18) is charged with Criminal Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Felony Reckless Endangerment, and Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Dangerous Felony. He is in custody at the Hamilton County jail.
UPDATED 10/4/18: 9-29-18 Shooting/Homicide - 2000 block Windsor St.
The Chattanooga Police Department is releasing new details regarding the homicide of 18-year-old Te'unte Rice that occurred on September 28, 2018 in the 2000 block of Windsor Street.
