On August 19, 2020 at approximately 2:30 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a well-being check at a residence in the 2600 block of Waterfront Drive. The following are the preliminary facts of the investigation:
8-19-20 CHATTANOOGA POLICE DEPARTMENT INCREASES IMPAIRED-DRIVING ENFORCEMENT
(Chattanooga, TN) – The Chattanooga Police Department is partnering with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) for its “Booze It and Lose It” campaign from August 21 to September 7, surrounding the Labor Day holiday. This initiative coincides with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” mobilization to increase impaired-driving enforcement nationwide.
8-18-20 Traffic Fatality - 5300 Highway 153
On August 14, 2020 at approximately 10:26 p.m. Chattanooga Police responded to a two vehicle crash at 5300 Highway 153. The CPD Traffic / DUI Unit responded to the scene. The following was determined through interview, observation, and investigation:
