2-22-21 Officers respond to Assault & Robbery call
(Chattanooga, TN) - Chattanooga Police Officers responded to a Robbery of an Individual call at 1820 Gunbarrel Road, Thursday, February 18, 2021. Once on scene, responding officers found an adult male suffering from significant visible wounds consistent with having been violently assaulted and a place of business in shambles.
2-18-21 Shooting - 1100 Mackey Avenue
On February 17, 2021 at approximately 4:49 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to the 1100 block of Mackey Avenue on a report of a shooting. The following are the preliminary facts of the investigation:
2-4- 21 UPDATE: Missing Person Advisory Canceled - Michael Wigfall
UPDATE: The Missing Person Advisory for Michael Wigfall is canceled. Michael's body was located in a parked vehicle in the 7000 block of McCutcheon Road at 12:22 PM on February 4, 2021. Based on the preliminary investigation, it does not appear Mr. Wigfall's death was the result of a violent or intentional act by another person.
2-6-21 - Update: Arrests / Homicide- Shooting- 800 block East Martin Luther King Blvd.
Update: On Saturday February 6, 2021 two parties were arrested for the March 26, 2020 homicide of Holman Tanner. Jakob Demoss (5/23/00) was taken into custody in Cleveland, TN through the collaborative efforts of the Cleveland PD, Chattanooga PD Homicide Unit, Chattanooga PD Fugitive Unit and the U.S. Marshals. Israel Ackerman (10/08/99) was taken into custody in Lake County, FL through the collaborative efforts of Lake County Sheriff's Dept and Mount Dora PD. He will be extradited back to Chattanooga, TN. Both parties are charged with Felony Murder, Especially Aggravated Robbery and three counts each of Aggravated Robbery.
2-3-21 CPD Response to Alleged Officer Misconduct
On February 2, 2021, a community member filed a complaint against a Chattanooga Police Officer with the department’s Office of Internal Affairs. The complaint alleges the officer kicked and removed a city council candidate’s campaign sign and then tried to “intimidate” witnesses. After a review by the Chattanooga Police Department’s Office of Internal Affairs and the Executive Staff, the complaint will be Administratively Closed.
