UPDATE (11-10-21): The CPD Traffic Unit requests assistance in locating the suspect vehicle in a fatal hit and run crash involving a pedestrian that occurred Friday night 11/5/2021 on Hwy 58. The evidence collected on scene and from video has narrowed the search of the suspect vehicle. Please be on the lookout for a dark grey Lexus LX 570 SUV in the year model range of 2016-2020. The vehicle in the attached photos has a circular white sticker on the back passenger side bumper corner that may distinguish it. On November 5, 2021 at approximately 8:49 p.m., Chattanooga Police Traffic Division responded to a pedestrian struck in the 4800 block of Highway 58. The following was determined through interview, observation, and investigation:
- Vehicle #1 (Unknown SUV) was travelling North in the 4800 block of Highway 58.
- Pedestrian #1 was walking across Highway 58, West to East, when she stepped in front of Vehicle #1 and was struck.
- For unknown reasons Vehicle #1 then left the scene.
- Hamilton County EMS responded and pronounced Pedestrian #1 deceased on scene.
- Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525 or submit a tip via the CPD Mobile App. You can remain anonymous.
- The investigation is ongoing and will continue in a logical manner.
