3-13-20 CPD Service Continues during State of Emergency
"Our community and nation are facing tremendous fears and anxiety," said Chief David Roddy. "CPD personnel have faced crisis before, we are prepared to do so again now by serving as a source of strength, reassurance, and trust to the community members who depend on us."
CPD Officers come in contact with numerous community members throughout each shift. In order to limit exposure and increase social distance, officers have been instructed to follow the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention's recommendations for law enforcement.
Until further notice, the department has suspended in-service training, police cadet academy, and all CPD events to include the Citizens Police Academy, recruiting fairs, and CPD-led community activities.
The important and meaningful service CPD provides to our community on a daily basis will continue during this rapidly evolving situation.
