10-14-19 ARREST/10-6-19 Homicide / Shooting - 1400 Cowart St.
The arrest came after an extensive investigation by Chattanooga Police Department Homicide Investigators along with the assistance of multiple community members. During the course of the investigation, CPD collected video from numerous cameras, reviewed the footage, and were able to determine Jamycal Johnson to be the suspect from the shooting that claimed the life of 19-year-old Brandon Rogers on October 6, 2019. Additionally, physical evidence located on scene links Johnson to the crime scene at the time of the incident.
Jamycal Johnson is currently in custody at the Hamilton County Jail.

On October 6, 2019 at approximately 2:22 a.m., Chattanooga Police were on scene of a Person Shot call at 1400 Cowart Street (Coyote Jacks). The following are the preliminary facts of the incident:
- CPD Officers called dispatch to report Shots Fired and to request more officers respond to the scene for crowd control.
- CPD Officers located one person suffering from a gunshot wound in the patio area of Coyote Jacks.
- CPD Officers immediately rendered aid in order to attempt to save the victim's life until Hamilton County EMS arrived on scene.
- Hamilton County EMS transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
- Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call the Homicide Tip Line at 423-643-5100 or submit a tip via the CPD Mobile App. You can remain anonymous.
