5-1-19 ARREST/Homicide - 5800 block Moody Sawyer Rd.
Numerous local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies worked together for nearly four months to locate Leslie and hold him accountable for the murder of Ms. Whiteside. The Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) would like to thank the U.S. Marshals, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, Columbia County Sheriff's Office, and Clay County Sheriff's Office for their assistance in locating and taking Leslie into custody. CPD also appreciates the assistance we received from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
Leslie was located on May 1, 2019, in the 7000 block of 103rd Street in Jacksonville, FL. Leslie is now in custody at the Duval County Jail where he will remain until extradited to Hamilton County.

UPDATE (2/11/19):
The Chattanooga Police Department is asking for the community's assistance in locating a suspect involved in a Homicide that occurred on January 11, 2019 in the 5800 block of Moody Sawyer Road.
The suspect in this Homicide has been identified as 30-year-old Kameron Leslie. He is a black male, 6'0" in height, and weighs approximately 175 pounds. Please see attached photo. He's charged with one count of First Degree Murder.
The Chattanooga Police Department is asking for the community's assistance in locating the suspect. Available Details: On January 11, 2019 at approximately 11:52 a.m. Chattanooga Police responded to a CPR in progress call at a residence in the 5800 block of Moody Sawyer Road. The following are the preliminary facts of that incident:
- Upon arrival, Police located the victim who was unresponsive
- Hamilton County EMS pronounced the victim deceased at the scene
- Police secured the area and called for the CPD Violent Crimes Bureau to respond
- The manner of the death was not immediately clear during the course of the preliminary investigation
- On January 17, 2019 the manner of death was ruled a Homicide. That determination was made based on the CPD's investigation and discussion with the Hamilton County Medical Examiner.
