Video obtained from the Chattanooga Police Department Public Safety Cameras monitored at the Real Time Intelligence Center (RTIC) and other area security cameras were utilized in this investigation. The investment in technology and community policing efforts led to a swift identification of the suspect.
Mr. Talley is charged with Criminal Homicide and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. He is in custody at the Hamilton County Jail.

On April 15, 2019 at approximately 6:56 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to the 900 block of Dodson Avenue on a report of a person shot.
- Upon arrival, Police located a victim who had been shot.
- Hamilton County EMS responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
- Police secured the crime scene and called for the CPD Violent Crimes Bureau to respond.
- Investigators were able to determine that the victim and suspect were in an altercation prior to the victim being shot.
- The suspect fled the scene.Investigators have identified the suspect as Deontae Talley and taken out warrants for Criminal Homicide and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
