UPDATE (8/3/18): The Chattanooga Police Department is asking for the community's help in locating the suspect involved in the fatal shooting of Cortez Alford that occurred on July 18, 2018 at 1101 Arlington Avenue.
The suspect is identified as 23-year-old Oshea Arkeith Williams. He is a black male who is 5'7" in height and weighs approximately 165 lbs. He has brown hair and brown eyes. (photo attached)
Investigators believe Mr. Williams could be in the Detroit, Michigan area. CPD is working with the U.S. Marshals Service and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to locate Oshea Williams. On July 18, 2018 at 4:51 p.m. the Chattanooga Police Department responded to the 1100 block of Arlington Ave. on the report of a person shot. The following are the preliminary facts of that incident:
Upon arrival, police located the victim who was deceased from an apparent gunshot woundWitnesses stated to police the victim and another man (suspect) were involved in a physical altercation prior to the shootingThe suspect fled the scenePolice were able to locate a firearm in the vicinity of the shootingMembers of the Violent Crime Bureau are actively investigating this incident.
