1-12-18 Shooting - 100 block N. Crest Rd.
- Chattanooga Police were originally dispatched to a burglary in progress call at this location
- Upon arrival, police determined that the would-be burglar was actually the victim of a shooting who was attempting to seek assistance from the occupants of the home
- The shooting victim knocked on multiple doors of the home in an effort to have the occupants call police to assist him
- When knocking proved to be ineffective, the victim then shattered a glass sliding door with a lawn chair in an effort to activate the alarm
- HCEMS transported the victim to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries
- Investigators were able to locate the original crime scene nearby
- Members of the Violent Crimes Bureau are investigating this incident and following all actionable leads
