7-6-17 Suspects Arrested in Double Homicide

Thomas Holder (male, 20)
Victim #2:
Identity will not be released due to juvenile status. (male, 17)
A this time the double homicide is being investigated as a Gang Motivated Incident
Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
ORIGINAL RELEASE 7/20/17:
At 9:45 this morning Chattanooga Police responded to 2116 Shepherd Rd concerning two bodies found at Highland Memorial Gardens. The following are the preliminary facts of that investigation:
- A community member called police to report the two bodies on the cemetery grounds
- Upon police arrival it was confirmed that both victims were deceased
- Their injuries appear to be consistent with that of gunshot wounds
- Police extended a crime scene to cover the surrounding property of the Highland Memorial Gardens
- Due to the size of the crime scene, the Chattanooga Police Academy were called in to assist with the search for evidence
- The cadets were able to search the whole property within 30 minutes which would have taken investigators hours to cover
- The victims are both male
- The identity and ages of both victims are not available at this time.
- Both victims appear to be adult age or near adult age
- Members of the Violent Crime Bureau are actively investigating this incident and following all actionable leads
- The Chattanooga Police Department has set up a newly formed Homicide Tip Line. Callers can remain anonymous and all tips go directly to the investigators. 423-643-5100
