6-13-17 Traffic Crash/Entrapment - 2610 Campbell St.
At 11:30 on the morning of June 13, 2017, Chattanooga Police responded to a traffic crash with entrapment at 2610 Campbell St. The following are the preliminary facts of that incident:
- Police were informed that a Johnathan Morris had located his grandmother's stolen car (Vehicle #1)
- Mr Morris followed the vehicle and informed Hamilton County Dispatchers that Vehicle #1 had wrecked on Campbell St
- Vehicle #2 was traveling south on Campbell St when Vehicle #1 came around a curve at a high rate of speed
- Vehicle #1 crossed into the south bound lane of traffic hitting Vehicle #2 head on
- After Vehicle #1 hit Vehicle #2, the driver in Vehicle #1 got out and fled the scene
- Witnesses observed that the driver of Vehicle #1 appeared to be injured as he fled
- The driver of Vehicle #2 had to be extracted and was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries
- Members of the Traffic Division are following all actionable leads to locate the suspect
- The vehicle was reported stolen out of Red Bank on 6/12/2017
