12-7-16 UPDATE/12-6-16 Shooting - 1300 block E 36th St
UPDATE:
On Wednesday, December 7, 2016 Chattanooga Police Fugitive Division and Intelligence Division in concert with the U.S. Marshals executed the arrest of Garaek Lopopolo (aka Garaek Gaddis, 19) for the Shooting and Robbery of Chase Gipson (22). The following are the facts of that arrest:
- Mr. Lopopolo was found in the Kings Lodge Motel
- During his apprehension by police Lopopolo resisted arrest and tried to flee
- K9 Officer Meador was able to apprehend Lopopolo and gain compliance through the use of his K9, Ducco
- Garaek Lopopolo was treated at Erlanger for minor injuries and transported to the Hamilton County Jail
- Lopopolo was arrested on charges of Especially Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Robbery and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony

A man suffers a single gunshot wound during an attempted robbery.
Available Details:
Early Wednesday morning, December 6, 2016 Chattanooga Police responded to a person shot at the 1300 block of E 36th St. The following are the preliminary facts of that investigation:
- The victim was shot by the suspect one time
- The victim is suffering from non-life-threatening injuries
- The victim arrived at a local hospital in a personally owned vehicle
- The victim struggled with the suspect during the robbery and was shot by the suspect
- Members of the Violent Crimes Bureau are actively investigating all leads
